Dear friends this is Lonnie and Leo of TMAN Philadelphia.
We are contacting you personally about a very exciting venture that TMAN has taken a leadership role with for the 2009 Philadelphia Transhealth Conference (PTHC) from June 11th – 13th.
PTHC is usually broken down into “tracks” which workshops or activities with specific focus, like family, youth, religion, etc. The tracks allow for more than one workshop/activity of focus to be held on each day of the conference. We have advocated for and have been given the go-ahead to assist in organizing the People of Color track. Next year will be the first year of its existence and we hope to see this track flourish in the future.
At this time we would like to reach out to all single or group facilitators who may be interested in taking part in this historical effort. We are asking for your support in a couple of ways so please choose one today:
1. Propose a workshop you want to facilitate. (Need help getting it down on paper? Call 215-834- 9063, leave a message we’ll call back).
2. Propose a workshop idea that someone else can facilitate.
3. Propose an activity you would like to be included.
4. Any other way you can think of to support.
Last year’s attendance of POC at the PTHC was record breaking. We expect an even bigger turnout this year. As such, we want the workshops to speak to our varied and special needs. We are asking our community to help us organize the best planning possible for our people. The following is a list of possible workshop topics. If you have any interest in proposing a workshop in any of the specified areas, please indicate that in your response:

We are asking for input for Providers Day workshop ideas and social activities as well.
The PTHC is a completely free conference (except provider day). There is an opportunity for travel scholarships in the amount of $100. We have attached the following forms to submit:
The deadline for submitting workshops is January 15, 2009. Please do not be discouraged by the due date. Even if you have an idea that you anticipate finalizing by June but may need assistance in getting the proposal in on time, please let us know as soon as possible.
